An Unforgettable Experience
Named by Qantas Magazine as the #1 thing to do in Tasmania (winter 2024)!
Walking Tours with Dr Lisa Gershwin
When we are children, we believe in magic. Then we grow up and discover that magic isn't real. But this is magic that is real!
Glow TourTM
Guided walking tour: fluorescent Marsupials, Owls, Invertebrates, Flowers, Lichens, Fungi, Mosses -- let's explore to see what amazing things are glowing at night! Your tour guide is Dr Lisa Gershwin, named by the Science Show on ABC Radio National as one of the Top 100 Australian Scientists!
Bicheno Beams
These small-group tours will focus on finding amazing glowing flora and fauna and helping you get the best from your camera -- smartphone or DSLR! We will take the time we need to take to help you get the images you're happy with!
Minimum 1, maximum 4 people. Around 3 hours. $155 per person.
You may have heard about my Glow ToursTM on location in the Huon, Bicheno, Launceston, and St Helens. The Glow TourTM is now available to come to your town! I'll bring the lights and the stories, and together we will look for real magic.
$350 flat fee for travel and accommodation, plus $55 per person.
The Glow TourTM is a uniquely Tasmanian experience that features native animals and plants in a way that you've never imagined! They look like AI, but they are absolutely real. And if the aurora or bioluminescence are happening, we may have the option to see those too! Perhaps described more easily with poetry than science, Tassie's glowing phenomena are the most wondrous part of our night life!
The Glow TourTM is suitable for adults, children, tourists, locals, anyone wanting to know more about Tasmania's naturally glowing phenomena and how to find it. And it is wheelchair accessible as well!

I will explain about the science and the species, and I'll show you how to get great photos of these remarkable natural phenomena.
