The Original Glow TourTM takes place in fully accessible, easy-access outdoor settings. People with a range of backgrounds and needs have enjoyed our Glow Tours, and we pro-actively welcome all. Let us know how we can work with you to get the most out of the Glow Tour!

Mobility

The Glow Tour has welcomed people with a range of mobility needs, including users of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, and walking sticks. The Glow Tour is a leisurely walk exploring for glow, frequently stopping to marvel, photograph, and learn about what we are finding. Most of the tracks we can take are flat or nearly flat, with minimal trip hazards. Please reach out if you have needs or preferences, so that we can best accommodate you in providing an enjoyable experience.

Hearing

People with Auslan interpreters have enjoyed our Glow Tours by having the interpreters use light-coloured gloves, which glow delightfully in the UV light. While the Glow Tour is unable to provide an interpreter for guests, we are happy to waive the booking fee for Auslan interpreters if this is arranged prior to booking. And we encourage interpreters to try different coloured gloves, such as pale pink or pale blue, for mesmerising glows.

Colour blindness

People with various degrees of colour blindness have sometimes found that they can more easily detect the fluorescent colours of glowing flora and fauna than in normal light. Please reach out and let us know if you would like to try this, so we can attempt to find particularly dazzling red and green glows.

Language

The Glow Tour takes place in English, but we delight in bridging barriers between languages. We are keen users of Google Translate, and we are willing to laugh at ourselves when we don't quite pronounce things correctly the first time! Please reach out ahead of time to let us know if you experience any discomfort with English, and we will do all that we can to help you feel comfortable. And during the tour, please do not hesitate to ask for clarification -- we deeply want to help all guests get the most out of their experience!

Neurodiversity

The Glow Tour's senior scientist, Dr Lisa Gershwin, is autistic, so we well understand the special needs of people living with neurodiverse conditions. Please reach out to let us know if there are any special interest fascinations that you would like to try to find, of if there is any other way that we can enhance your Glow Tour experience.

Young children

In our experience, young children often love glowing nature. However, in some cases, very young children may act in ways that can be frightening to animals, disruptive to other guests, or hazardous to themselves. Please reach out to discuss the special needs of bringing a young child, and consider booking a private tour so that their experience can be optimised.

Other needs

Please reach out to discuss other needs. We will eagerly bend over backward to create an inclusive environment for everyone from all backgrounds to enjoy the glowing world.
